Hokum horror film arrives on Hulu

The horror film ‘Hokum’, directed by Irish filmmaker Damian McCarthy, has been added to the streaming service Hulu. The film, which originally saw a theatrical release in May, follows an American novelist played by Adam Scott who travels to a remote hotel in Ireland to scatter his parents' ashes.

While attempting to overcome writer's block, the protagonist encounters local legends regarding a vengeful witch haunting the hotel. The plot involves an investigation into a missing hotel worker and explores themes of folk horror and mythology. Critics have noted the film as a significant entry in the genre for the current season, comparing its atmosphere to works like ‘The Shining’.
