Hokuto Matsumura and Mio Imada promote film ‘Swan and the Bat’

Actors Hokuto Matsumura and Mio Imada attended a promotional event in Tokyo for the upcoming film ‘Swan and the Bat’, a live-action adaptation of Keigo Higashino’s mystery novel. Held near the Sumida River, a key filming location, the event featured the leads dressed in traditional yukata to pray for the film’s success ahead of its September 4 release.

During the event, Matsumura, who plays the son of a suspect, and Imada, who portrays the daughter of a victim, discussed the film’s themes of moral ambiguity and the ‘grey areas’ of human emotion. They also shared personal anecdotes and discussed their preferred ways to experience the story, such as watching the film before reading the original novel.

Following the event, promotional interviews were broadcast on various Japanese television programs, including ZIP!, Mezamashi TV, and Nonstop!, with social media reactions highlighting the actors’ appearances in their summer attire.
