Denmark faces widespread traffic disruptions from roadworks and major events

Denmark is experiencing widespread traffic disruptions due to a combination of major infrastructure maintenance and large-scale public events.

Vejdirektoratet has announced extensive roadworks across several regions. In Aarhus, motorway ramps at Aarhus N and Aarhus Syd are facing closures for asphalt replacement, with some restrictions lasting until September 10. In Taastrup, work on the Holbæk Motorway will involve lane reductions and ramp closures. Other maintenance projects include soil investigations for the Marselis Tunnel and asphalt work on the Kalundborg Motorway and near Vojens.

Simultaneously, major events are impacting urban mobility. Copenhagen and Frederiksberg are preparing for significant traffic changes due to the Copenhagen Pride Parade, Ironman Copenhagen, and the Frederiksberg Criterium. In Aalborg, the annual marathon is causing localized road closures and diversions near the Limfjord.

Commuters are advised to expect increased travel times, particularly during rush hours and nighttime work periods, and to follow official signage and traffic maps.
