Holden Dealer Team acquired by Kenny Habul

The legendary Holden Dealer Team (HDT) has been acquired by Kenny Habul, a two-time Bathurst 12 Hour winner and sports car racing champion. Habul purchased the iconic motorsport brand from long-time owner Peter Champion for an undisclosed sum.

This acquisition comes just days before a major brand reboot is scheduled to be announced following this year’s Bathurst 1000 race. HDT, which originated in 1969 as a racing division for Holden, is expected to pursue an ambitious new direction that includes a “significant return” to the heart of Australian motorsport and a renewed presence at Bathurst.

Peter Champion, who has owned the brand since 2007, stated that Habul is the right person to keep the famous brand and its history alive. The brand's history is deeply tied to the late Peter Brock, who led HDT to numerous successes before a controversial split with Holden in 1987.
