Holding Absence releases new singles ahead of fourth album

South Wales music trio Holding Absence has released new singles “Lucid Love” and the title track “Modern Life Is Lonely” in anticipation of their fourth full-length album, titled ‘Modern Life Is Lonely’. The upcoming record is set for release via their new label, Sumerian Records.

Frontman Lucas Woodland describes the new material as exploring themes of isolation and the paradox of being hyper-connected yet lonely in the modern era. The music incorporates various styles, including hyperpop, lo-fi, and post-hardcore. The album is produced by Daniel Braunstein and draws thematic inspiration from Blur’s 1993 album ‘Modern Life Is Rubbish’.
