Denmark defeats Bulgaria in Davis Cup to qualify for 2027 finals

Denmark secured a victory over Bulgaria in the Davis Cup World Group I, qualifying for the 2027 finals after a 3-2 win in Hillerød. The match was highlighted by the return of Holger Rune, who played his first competitive match in 11 months following an Achilles tendon injury.

Rune won both of his singles matches, including a decisive three-set comeback against Grigor Dimitrov with scores of 3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4). Elmer Møller sealed the team victory by defeating Iliyan Radulov 6-2, 6-4.

The tournament also sparked discussion regarding regulations. Former world number two Alex Corretja suggested the introduction of home and away kits to prevent visual confusion when players wear nearly identical colors, a problem observed during the Dimitrov and Møller match.
