Holger Rune leads Denmark to Davis Cup victory

Holger Rune has led Denmark to a victory in the Davis Cup World Group I, securing a spot in the qualifying phase. Returning to competition after a 335-day absence following Achilles tendon surgery in October 2025, the 23-year-old secured two decisive points. Rune first defeated Iliyan Radulov and subsequently overcame former world No. 3 Grigor Dimitrov in a three-set match (3-6, 6-3, 7-6(4)). Elmer Moller completed the win for Denmark by defeating Radulov.

Currently ranked No. 142 in the ATP, Rune holds a protected ranking of No. 14 for the remainder of the season. His upcoming schedule includes the Tokyo Open, the Shanghai Masters, and the Stockholm Open, as he seeks to regain competitive rhythm and defend ranking points.
