Holiday musical performances announced in France and Quebec

Several musical productions are scheduled for the upcoming holiday season in France and Canada.

In France, the Orchestre National des Pays de la Loire (ONPL) will perform five Christmas concerts in Nantes and Angers from December 4 to 10, 2026. Directed by Sascha Goetzel, the program features trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin-Vary and choral groups including the Maîtrise des Pays de la Loire and the Maîtrise de la Perverie. The repertoire highlights female composers such as Élisabeth Jacquet de La Guerre, Louise Farrenc, Elsa Barraine, and Nadia Boulanger, alongside festive classics by Bach, Purcell, and Tchaïkovski.

In Quebec, singer and pianist Marie Michèle Desrosiers is returning with the show ‘Un piano pour Noël’. Performing alongside arranger Stéphane Aubin and a string orchestra, Desrosiers will pay tribute to the late composer André Gagnon. The performance features hits from Gagnon’s iconic Christmas album, including ‘La marche des rois’ and ‘Dans le silence de la nuit’, celebrating the musical legacy and friendship between the two artists.
