Major Cruise Lines Unveil Expanded Itineraries for 2027‑2029
Hapag‑Lloyd Cruises announced that its ship HANSEATIC inspiration will sail a 21‑day itinerary in 2027 that links all five Great Lakes and the St. Lawrence River, running between Milwaukee and Halifax and featuring stops such as Mackinac Island, the Welland Canal and Montreal.
Azamara revealed its 2028 season, highlighting a first‑full Asia programme with 33 sailings that will visit Japan, South Korea and China, as well as an intensified European schedule that will keep ships in port for over half of all port days, adding 12 new ports across both continents.
Holland America’s Nieuw Statendam will operate two Baltic and Scandinavia Christmas‑market cruises in December 2027, calling at cities including Hamburg, Tallinn, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Helsinki, after departing from Rotterdam.
Oceania Cruises introduced the newly refitted Oceania Aurelia, slated for 2028‑2029 world‑cruise voyages lasting up to 180 days, beginning in Miami (2028) and Los Angeles (2029) and travelling through the Panama Canal, the South Pacific, Asia, the Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean before finishing in New York.
Norwegian Cruise Line extended its South Pacific season for 2026‑2027, adding eight‑ to 13‑day itineraries on the Norwegian Spirit that will depart from Fiji and visit destinations such as Brisbane, Vanuatu, New Caledonia and Rarotonga, targeting Australian travellers seeking nearby island escapes.
