Holland America Line accelerates Oosterdam renovation

Holland America Line has announced that the renovation of its ship, Oosterdam, will be completed five weeks earlier than originally scheduled. This acceleration is part of the ‘Holland America Evolution’ project, a $500 million fleet upgrade initiative. The decision to move up the dry dock in Marseille, France, was driven by high demand for the upgraded vessels.

To accommodate the accelerated timeline, the company has canceled several voyages scheduled between September 11, 2027, and December 9, 2027. Affected guests are being contacted regarding rebooking options.

The Oosterdam is set to return to service on October 31, 2027, with a 10-day cruise from Rome to Trieste, visiting Italy, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia. The company has also added four new cruises to the schedule, including Mediterranean voyages, a transatlantic crossing to Fort Lauderdale, and a Caribbean cruise.
