Holland America Line adds record number of European ports for 2028 cruise season

Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 Europe cruise season, deploying five ships—Rotterdam, Nieuw Statendam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Volendam and Zuiderdam—to sail from January through early December. The itineraries, ranging from seven to 48 days, will cover Northern Europe, the Mediterranean, the Canary Islands and trans‑Atlantic voyages. The line will make a record number of port calls to Norway, Spain, Ireland and the Netherlands, and guests can visit more than 200 UNESCO World Heritage sites, including Norway’s fjords. Paul Grigsby, vice‑president of deployment and revenue planning, said the program is built around seasonal experiences such as Dutch spring blooms and winter escapes in the Mediterranean. The expanded schedule offers longer legendary voyages and multiple seasonal cruises, aiming to give travelers deeper cultural and landscape immersion across Europe.
