Holland America Line expands European cruising and accelerates ship renovations

Holland America Line is expanding its European operations with a historic year-round deployment. For the first time in the company’s history, the ship Nieuw Statendam will remain in European waters continuously from October 2027 through March 2028. This expansion introduces new seasonal itineraries, including Christmas market cruises in Scandinavia and the Baltic, as well as Northern Lights and solar eclipse voyages.

Additionally, the cruise line has accelerated the renovation schedule for the ship Oosterdam. Due to high demand for the reimagined vessel, the transformation will begin five weeks earlier than planned in Marseille, France. The Oosterdam is scheduled to return to service on October 31, 2027, with its first post-renovation voyage. This acceleration allows the company to add five additional cruises across the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean, though some previously scheduled voyages between September and December 2027 have been canceled to accommodate the earlier dry dock.
