Holland & Barrett closes Alton branch

Holland & Barrett has closed its Westbrook Walk store in Alton town centre. The health and wellbeing retailer attributed the decision to “changing shopping patterns and evolving high streets.”

The closure is part of a broader £70 million investment strategy aimed at optimizing the company's UK and Ireland footprint through new openings, refurbishments, and relocations. While the investment has led to upgrades, it has also resulted in some lease expirations and closures.

The company stated it is working with the small number of affected staff to explore redeployment opportunities within the business. Customers previously using the Alton branch have been directed to the company's website or its Farnham location.
