Holland International Blues Festival Ends; Berkel Blues Grows in Eibergen

The Holland International Blues Festival announced that its ninth edition, held in June 2024 in Grolloo, will be the last. Organiser MOJO said rising costs and attendance levels that fell short of what is needed for a high‑quality event forced the decision, ending a nine‑year run that began under Jan Lagendijk and Gregory Elias.

Meanwhile, the Berkel Blues festival in the Openluchttheater Eibergen continues to expand. Founded five years ago by blues enthusiast Hans, the event is now in its fifth edition and is scheduled for Sunday 6 September 2024. Organisers Hans and his brother‑in‑law Herman plan to present three blues bands and a pause act, emphasizing a relaxed atmosphere, community involvement, and high‑quality sound production.
