During an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, Taylor explained that the couple maintains separate residences due to the demands of their acting careers and geographic locations.

Taylor noted that she maintains an apartment in New York and a house in Los Angeles. While they have separate homes, Paulson has been staying at Taylor’s residences for nearly a year while awaiting a move into a new house. Taylor described their time together as being dictated by their professional schedules and geography, stating, “We’re together as much as geography and our jobs let us be.”

Taylor also praised Paulson, describing her as a “fascinating person” and an “artful friend” who invests significant time and attention into her relationships.
