Hollman Morris to face charges in Colombia for alleged sexual violence

The Colombian Attorney General's Office has scheduled an indictment hearing for Hollman Morris, the former director of the state media system RTVC, for November 17.

Morris is accused of violent sexual acts involving aggravating circumstances. According to investigators, the alleged incidents occurred in December 2011 in Madrid, Spain, while Morris was residing abroad. The prosecution stated that the investigation involves acts committed without consent within a context of gender-based violence that allegedly violated the victim's sexual freedom and integrity.

The upcoming hearing will serve to formally communicate the charges to Morris and present the evidence gathered to support the probability of his responsibility. The indictment is a formal step in the legal process and does not constitute a conviction, as the presumption of innocence remains in effect.
