Holly Willoughby’s YouTube debut “Together” draws mixed reviews and low viewership
Former ITV presenter Holly Willoughby launched her first solo digital project, the lifestyle YouTube channel "Together," on 28 July. The 50‑minute debut episode featured Hollywood actor Stanley Tucci cooking a courgette pasta and included casual banter, product placement for a £799 cookware set and sponsorship by weight‑loss brand Voy. The series is produced by Hungry Bear Media, the company run by Willoughby’s husband Dan Baldwin.
Critical response was largely negative. The Telegraph gave the show a single star, calling it a “borefest” that made Meghan Markle’s Netflix series look good. The Times described it as an “empty gush fest,” while the Guardian noted it felt like “an aggressive audition for whether Willoughby is allowed to be famous again.” Reviewers highlighted the long runtime, forced profanity and awkward chemistry between host and guest. Fan reactions were split, with some praising the effort and others urging her to quit.
Audience numbers were modest. Within 24 hours the video had attracted only about 41,000 views and 11,000 subscribers, figures echoed in other reports citing roughly 35,000 daily viewers. Willoughby also shared on BBC Radio 2 that her teenage children found her new YouTube jargon amusing, with her daughter laughing at her attempts to explain “subscribe and ding the bell.”
