Hollyoaks announces character return and death

The British soap opera Hollyoaks is set for significant character developments. Actor Oscar Curtis, who plays Lucas Hay, is returning to the series following a period of absence during which his character served a prison sentence for attempted murder.

Curtis has been nominated for the Best Young Performer prize at the Inside Soap Awards 2026 for his portrayal of the character.

In separate plot developments, the character Martin Frost has been confirmed dead. His death follows a storyline involving the framing of Cindy Cunningham for the murder of Rex Gallagher. The investigation into the shooting and the subsequent accusations involving characters James Nightingale and Beth Keane continue to drive the show's narrative.
