Hollyoaks holds immersive fan event in Chester

The Channel 4 drama Hollyoaks held an immersive fan event in Chester, bringing the show’s ongoing mystery involving the character Ste Hay into the real world. In a departure from traditional broadcasting, the production utilized street theatre and multi-platform content across social media to extend the storyline.

During the event at Chester Cross, fans witnessed a live scene where Ste Hay, played by Kieron Richardson, appeared to escape from his captors in a van before being recaptured. Other cast members also participated in real-world interactions, including scenes involving the McQueen family and musical performances by characters Kathleen-Angel and Maddox.

The event was designed to blur the lines between fiction and reality, following a storyline where Ste Hay disappeared from a shopping centre in early September. The escape depicted during the live event is set to be featured in the upcoming episode of the series.
