An 18-year-old college student, Destiny Valderrama, was violently beaten and robbed during an attack at a 7-Eleven located at 6702 Hollywood Blvd. in Los Angeles. The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning.
Surveillance footage shows a female suspect pulling Valderrama to the ground by her hair before a male accomplice joined the assault, repeatedly slamming her head against the floor. Valderrama reported that the attackers were attempting to steal her gold chain. She lost consciousness during the attack and suffered bruising to her neck and arms. Two friends who attempted to intervene were also attacked and dragged across the floor.
Valderrama stated that she requested assistance from 7-Eleven employees to contact the police, but alleged that staff members were unwilling to help and instead told the group to leave. The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed that a report was filed and an investigation into the incident is ongoing. No arrests have been made as of the latest reports.
