Hollywood's 'Children of Blood and Bone' Casts African Talent

The upcoming Hollywood fantasy film Children of Blood and Bone, an adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi's 2018 novel, is scheduled for theatrical release on 15 January 2027. The Lucasfilm production features a star‑studded cast that includes Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Cynthia Erivo, Damson Idris, Thuso Mbedu, and others.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Ayra Starr is set to make her Hollywood acting debut in the film, while Ghanaian dancer and choreographer Endurance Grand appears in the first teaser, sparking speculation about her role in the movie’s choreography. Both artists highlight the growing presence of African talent in major global entertainment projects.

The film’s story follows a young warrior’s quest to restore magic in the fictional African kingdom of Orïsha, underscoring African‑inspired storytelling on an international platform.
