Holton commemorates 25th anniversary of 9/11 attacks

In Holton, Kansas, local organizations and veterans gathered at Linscott Park to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Cody Osmun, a U.S. Army veteran who served with the 3rd United States Infantry Regiment, acted as the guest speaker for the event. Osmun reflected on the lasting impact of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and Shanksville, Pennsylvania, noting that for many, the events still feel recent. He honored the nearly 3,000 victims and the emergency personnel who responded to the attacks.

Participants included members from various Jackson County veterans' organizations, such as the Holton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1367 and several American Legion posts. Osmun also recognized the thousands of individuals who joined the military in the decades following the attacks.
