Holy Cross defeats William & Mary 41-14 in road football victory
The Holy Cross football team secured a 41-14 road victory against William & Mary at Walter J. Zable Stadium. Following an early 7-7 tie, Holy Cross scored 24 unanswered points to build a 31-7 lead in the second half, eventually outscoring the Tribe 10-0 in the fourth quarter.
Holy Cross offense was led by quarterback David Lynch, who threw two touchdown passes to receiver Ty Curran. The rushing attack proved dominant, with Joseph Williams recording 111 yards and a touchdown, Datrell Jones adding 77 yards and a score, and Jake Croce contributing a touchdown run. The Crusaders outgained William & Mary 389-251, including a significant 203-31 advantage in rushing yards.
William & Mary's scoring was limited to two touchdown passes from quarterback Winston Watkins, one to Khylil Johnson and another to Kai Austin. Defensively, the Tribe was led by linebacker Elijah Rainer, who recorded a career-high 13 tackles.
