Holy Days New Zealand‑Canadian Film Opens in Australian Cinemas

Holy Days is a New Zealand‑Canadian co‑production based on Dame Joy Cowley’s 2000 novel. Directed by actress‑turned‑filmmaker Nathalie Boltt, the film stars Judy Davis, Miriam Margolyes and Jacki Weaver as three eccentric nuns who shelter 9‑year‑old Māori boy Brian after his mother’s death. Brian and the nuns embark on a road‑trip across the South Island to save their convent from developers, while Brian pursues a personal quest to reach Aoraki/Mt Cook.

The film is scheduled to screen in Australian cinemas from 6 August. IF Magazine is running a giveaway of five double‑pass tickets to Holy Days, with entries accepted through its newsletter until 5 August.
