Holzwickede to host 12th edition of Mord am Hellweg crime festival

The 12th edition of ‘Mord am Hellweg’, Europe’s largest international crime festival, is scheduled to begin on September 19. The festival will feature various literary events in the Holzwickede region.

On September 26, the Emschersaal will host the ‘Viktor Crime Award 2026: Nominees Reading’ in the international category. Established by bestselling author Sebastian Fitzek, the event features nominees Emily Freud, Amy Jordan, and Colin Walsh, who will read from their German-language thriller debuts. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite author.

On October 16, Haus Opherdicke will host an event featuring award-winning author Gerhard Henschel and Dominic Raacke. As part of the ‘Unsterblich tot’ series, Henschel will present his new crime novel and discuss influential investigator figures in conversation with crime expert Joachim Feldmann.
