Homa Bay man killed during family dispute

A 28-year-old man, identified as Tom Otieno Odongo, was killed during a family dispute in Chumbo Village, Ndhiwa Sub-County, Homa Bay County. The incident took place at approximately 10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2026, inside his grandfather’s house.

According to police reports, the confrontation turned violent when the victim’s uncle allegedly overpowered him and struck him multiple times on the head with a metal object. The injuries were fatal, and the victim died at the scene. Officers from the Pala Police Post processed the scene and are currently investigating the matter. The suspect fled the area following the incident and remains at large as police continue efforts to locate and arrest him.
