Homa to invest 3.1 billion baht in Thai refrigerator production base
Homa, a major global manufacturer of refrigerators and freezers, is investing over 3.1 billion baht to establish a production base in Chonburi, Thailand. The facility is expected to have an annual production capacity of 1.5 million units and aims to generate 12 billion baht in annual export value.
Vikrom Kromadit, CEO of Amata Corporation Public Company Limited, stated that Chinese investors continue to view Thailand as a strategic regional manufacturing hub due to its infrastructure, strategic location, and supply chain readiness. He noted a shift in Chinese investment trends from domestic-focused production toward using Thailand as an export base for global markets.
The project is expected to create up to 3,000 jobs and increase the use of local components to between 50% and 60%. This investment is intended to strengthen the electrical and electronic industrial cluster within Amata's zones and integrate Thai entrepreneurs into global production chains.
