Homberg (Efze) hosts large-scale emergency services training exercise

Paramedic trainees from the DRK-Rettungsdienstschule Schwalm-Eder participated in a large-scale emergency exercise in Homberg (Efze). The simulation, held at the former Ostpreußen-Kaserne, involved 33 aspiring emergency medics tasked with managing a mass casualty incident involving twelve simulated injured persons.

The exercise focused on structuring the initial response phase, requesting additional resources, and performing leadership duties. Trainees practiced patient triage, treatment prioritization, and organizing transport in coordination with the fire department and medical leadership. The drill included 227 participants, including emergency responders from Homberg and Knüllwald, actors, and observers.
