Home and garden tips for fruit ripening and tree planting
Practical advice is provided regarding the proper care and placement of plants and trees to avoid domestic issues.
For pears, optimal ripening occurs at room temperature between 18–22 °C. Storing them in a refrigerator too early can prevent the conversion of starch to sugar, resulting in a flavorless texture. It is recommended to keep them in a quiet area of the kitchen, away from direct sunlight or heat sources, and to use paper bags to retain ethylene while allowing the fruit to breathe.
Regarding landscaping, planting willow trees requires careful consideration of long-term growth. Because willows are fast-growing and seek moisture, their roots can penetrate small leaks in sewage pipes, leading to blockages and structural damage. To prevent plumbing issues, it is advised to plant large willows at least 6 to 10 meters away from sewage lines and to verify the location of underground utilities before digging.
