VodafoneThree launches 5G SuperMobile service in the UK
VodafoneThree has launched ‘SuperMobile’, a new 5G service in the United Kingdom utilizing network slicing technology to provide enhanced connectivity. The service, which follows the merger of Vodafone and Three, aims to compete with BT-owned EE by offering speeds up to four times faster than standard plans.
A key feature of the offering is a conditional minimum download speed guarantee of 15 Mbps in eligible 5G+ areas. In a move described as an industry first, the company has stated that customers may leave their contracts without penalty if this speed guarantee is not met.
The service is available for an additional fee, ranging from £3 to £12 depending on the existing plan. VodafoneThree executives claim the move leverages the company’s significant spectrum holdings to provide more reliable service in high-demand areas such as city centers and large public events.
