B&M and Home Bargains roll out budget fans and storage solutions amid UK heatwave

UK discount retailer B&M is selling a £6 Blaupunkt LED handheld fan that advertises up to five hours of runtime, three speed settings and a colour‑changing LED ring. The product is limited to in‑store collection, with a "Hurry Low Stock" warning, and the chain also lists a £20 tower fan. The promotion comes as temperatures across Britain have risen to 38 °C, triggering a rare red weather warning from the Met Office.

Discount chain Home Bargains has introduced a 9‑litre clear‑plastic storage box priced at £2.99 and a fabric laundry basket with a lid for £12.99. Both items are marketed as space‑saving solutions for kitchens, wardrobes and laundry areas and are available online and in more than 600 UK stores, with standard delivery costing £3.95 (free on orders over £100).

Separately, Amazon’s early‑June Prime Day sales feature a range of low‑cost cooling gadgets, including a $14 handheld fan with “Shark ChillPill” vibes and other portable fans and personal air‑conditioners, extending the trend of affordable heat‑relief products.
