Home cleaning and decoration tips for Diwali
As Diwali preparations continue, various methods are suggested for maintaining household lighting and enhancing festive decorations.
To clean stubborn grime, oil, or smoke residue from light bulbs and tube lights, it is recommended to first turn off the power and allow the glass to cool completely for 10 to 15 minutes to prevent cracking. For kitchen lights with heavy grease, a solution of two teaspoons of baking soda in two cups of water can be used with a wrung-out cloth. A thicker paste made of lemon juice and baking soda may also help remove hardened oil layers. Alternatively, mild detergent mixed with lukewarm water can clean LED and CFL bulbs.
For festive decorations, moving beyond traditional straight-line hanging of fairy lights can improve home aesthetics. Suggestions include creating zigzag or wave patterns on walls using transparent clips, framing windows with lights, and combining light strings with marigold flowers at entrances to create a more stylish look.
