Home design trends for 2026 favor minimalist household tools

New lifestyle and design trends for 2026 show a shift toward minimalist and functional household tools in French homes. In kitchens, dishwashing gloves and traditional sponges are being replaced by dish brushes featuring built-in soap reservoirs. This change is driven by a desire for better hygiene, reduced plastic waste, and the convenience of a single tool that keeps hands dry.

In bathroom design, interior decorators are moving away from traditional soap dishes and bulky pump dispensers. To maintain a sculptural and continuous surface on countertops, new renovations favor invisible systems. These consist of a discreet spout integrated into the vanity, connected to a hidden reservoir concealed beneath the sink, which can be refilled via a removable cap.
