Home energy autonomy and consumption management

Home energy management is evolving toward greater autonomy through the integration of renewable sources, storage systems, and intelligent management. By 2026, technologies such as solar panels, battery storage, and heat pumps are becoming more accessible, allowing households to produce and optimize their own electricity to reduce dependence on public networks.

To manage costs effectively, it is essential to identify the most energy-intensive appliances. According to ADEME, heating and hot water are the primary drivers of electricity consumption. For instance, an electrically heated house can consume up to 5,000 kWh per year, while an electric water heater uses approximately 1,300 kWh annually. Other significant contributors include refrigerators, freezers, and tumble dryers, which operate over long periods.
