Home Garden Tips for Tomato Leaf Health and Pepper Preservation
Tomato leaves may turn yellow due to nutrient deficiencies, improper watering or disease. According to the Royal Horticultural Society, nitrogen shortage causes general fading, while magnesium lack produces yellowing between veins. Rapid whole‑plant yellowing often signals over‑ or under‑watering, especially during heat waves. The University of Minnesota Extension notes that fast‑spreading pale yellow usually points to nitrogen deficiency, whereas a brownish tint can indicate water‑stress.
For peppers, proper storage extends freshness for weeks. Freshly harvested pods can be kept at room temperature in ventilated paper bags for a few days. Refrigeration in perforated plastic bags or airtight containers can preserve them for 7–14 days. A brine method—placing cut or whole peppers in sterilized jars with salt water and sealing them—allows storage for several weeks in the fridge.
