Home Guard accused of assaulting woman at Hafeezpet Railway Station

A video circulating on social media has sparked outrage after showing a Home Guard allegedly beating and dragging a woman by her hair outside the Hafeezpet Railway Station in Hyderabad.

While initial reports suggested the individual was a Railway Protection Force (RPF) constable, the Secunderabad Central Railway (SCR) clarified that the personnel was actually a Telangana State Police Home Guard deputed for duty at the station. The SCR stated that the individual has been repatriated to the Telangana Police department for disciplinary action.

Miyapur police reported that the woman, identified as a ragpicker, had allegedly used abusive language toward the Home Guard prior to the physical altercation. Although the incident has drawn significant online criticism and calls for an inquiry, police noted that no formal complaint has been lodged as of the latest reports.
