Home hygiene guide covers kitchen sanitation and deep cleaning

Maintaining household hygiene involves addressing neglected areas that routine cleaning often misses. In the kitchen, specific high-grime locations include the rubber seals around refrigerator doors, which can trap mold and crumbs, and knife blocks, which may accumulate food dust and bacteria inside their slots.

Other common areas requiring attention are the bottom of dish drying racks, where limescale and mildew can build up from standing water, and stove knobs, which frequently collect grease and bacteria from frequent contact.

Deep house cleaning differs from standard maintenance by focusing on restoration rather than just presentation. While regular cleaning covers surface tasks like vacuuming and wiping counters, a deep clean involves intensive tasks such as scrubbing grout lines, cleaning inside appliances like ovens and refrigerators, and descaling taps and showerheads.
