Home mold prevention advice for Hungarian households

Mold growth in roof spaces can harm health, especially for allergy sufferers. Proper ventilation, quality insulation and regular inspections are essential to keep moisture from accumulating. Sealing cracks, using moisture‑resistant roofing materials and conducting at‑least‑annual professional checks help avoid water intrusion and fungal development.

In bathrooms, mold often appears on silicone seals. Effective removal methods include applying household bleach or chlorine cleaners, a thick paste of baking soda and water, tea‑tree oil solutions, or saturated vinegar. After treating the area, thorough rinsing and drying are recommended. Preventive steps such as ventilating the bathroom for several minutes after each use, installing or using extractor fans, wiping silicone dry, and regular cleaning of shower curtains and towels reduce humidity that fuels mold growth.
