Home remedies and safety tips for garden maintenance

Effective garden maintenance can be achieved using common household items and careful application of pesticides. To remove green algae and moss from paving stones, which can create slipping hazards, a mixture of vinegar and warm water (1:1 ratio) can break down the cellular structure of young growth. For older, more stubborn deposits, a paste made of baking soda and water can penetrate deeper into the pores of the stone.

When using insecticidal preparations, it is essential to protect beneficial insects like bees and ensure the safety of pets. Applications should ideally be performed in the early morning or evening to minimize contact with pollinators and avoid plant burns from sunlight. It is critical to keep pets away from treated areas until the products have completely dried to prevent skin or fur contact with active substances.
