Home remedies for wasp and bee stings

Traditional home remedies, such as applying a vinegar and water solution to wasp or bee stings, are often used to alleviate pain and swelling. While these practices are common, modern medical recommendations emphasize cleaning the sting site, applying cold compresses, and using antihistamines as more scientifically proven methods.

It is important to distinguish between bee and wasp stings: bees leave a stinger behind, whereas wasps can sting multiple times. Common symptoms include redness, swelling, itching, and localized heat. However, if a person experiences severe symptoms such as difficulty breathing, throat swelling, dizziness, or nausea, it may indicate an allergic reaction, requiring immediate medical attention rather than home remedies.
