Home security experts recommend maintenance and portable door locks

Maintaining home security relies on the proper functioning of access doors, locks, and closing systems. Over time, mechanisms may lose precision due to continuous use, environmental exposure, or component misalignment. Signs of deterioration include difficulty inserting a key or resistance when turning it.

Security expert and police officer Enric Serrano suggests that relying solely on high-quality locks may not be enough. He recommends using a portable door blocker as a secondary barrier to prevent the door from being opened from the outside while a person is inside. This compact device, which can cost less than 10 euros, requires no tools or drilling and can be used in homes or while traveling in hotels and tourist apartments.
