The new stage production "Home Sweet Loan The Musical" opened in Jakarta, presenting the story of Kaluna's quest for a home. The musical is a collaboration between Visinema Pictures, Indonesia Kaya and Jakarta Art House, adapting Almira Bestari's novel.
Director Lisa Reideka chose to have two actresses, Kalya Islamadina and Chintana Jo, alternate in the title role to convey multiple emotional perspectives. The show features 11 supporting actors, a 24‑member ensemble and more than 50 creative staff. Choreography was created by El Haq Latief and Nudiandra Sarasvati. Program manager Billy Gamaliel and producer Cristian Imanuell helped bring the project to stage, while Jakarta Art House producer Fadli Hafizan highlighted the significance of the intellectual property.
The production aims to deliver raw, live emotion, allowing audiences to feel Kaluna’s vulnerability and resilience as she pursues her dream of owning a house.
