Home Sweet Loan The Musical premieres in Jakarta

The musical adaptation of the novel and film “Home Sweet Loan” premiered at Graha Bhakti Budaya, Taman Ismail Marzuki, in Jakarta. Directed by Lisa Reideka, the production aims to present a more lighthearted and “fun” approach to the story while maintaining its relatability to the audience.

Unlike the original film, this musical features two different actresses portraying the character Kaluna—Kalya Islamadina and Chintana Jo—to represent diverse interpretations of what it means to “go home.” The performance explores the emotional journey of finding security and acceptance rather than just physical property.

The production includes 18 songs, such as “Kembali Pulang” and “Rumah dalam Ingatan,” and features choreography by El Haq Latief and Nudiandra Sarasvati designed to reflect the rhythms and pressures of urban life in Jakarta. The show involved 37 cast members and over 50 creative professionals.
