Homemade Kitchen Degreaser and Oven Tray Cleaning Methods
A simple orange‑peel solution can be used as a homemade degreaser for stovetops, countertops and cookware. The recipe calls for the peels of three large oranges, frozen and boiled to release their oils, then mixed with equal parts baking soda and salt, and two bottles of neutral detergent. The mixture can be stored in sealed containers for up to three months and applied to greasy surfaces for a citrus‑scented clean.
For oven trays, a paste of baking soda and a little water is spread over cooled, hardened grease and left for several hours. After the paste has softened the residue, a small amount of vinegar is added at the final stage, the tray is gently scrubbed with a soft sponge, rinsed and dried. The guidance stresses using warm (not hot) water, neutral detergent and soft cleaning tools on non‑stick surfaces to avoid scratching or stripping coatings.
