Homes England allocates £700m to Stonewater and Vistry for affordable housing

Homes England has announced significant funding allocations through its £39 billion Social and Affordable Homes Programme (SAHP) to accelerate the delivery of social and affordable housing across England.

Stonewater has secured £350 million, its largest-ever funding allocation from the agency. The provider intends to use the funds to deliver thousands of homes, with a specific emphasis on increasing housing supply within rural communities.

Vistry has also been awarded £350 million in government grant funding. As one of the few private-sector housebuilders selected as a strategic partner, Vistry will use the boost to support its partnerships-led model, delivering affordable homes in collaboration with local councils and housing associations outside of London.

Collectively, the strategic partnerships announced by Homes England are expected to support the creation of more than 73,000 new homes over the next decade, providing long-term certainty for the affordable housing development pipeline.
