Hometown Broadcasting to acquire four Minnesota radio stations
Hometown Broadcasting, led by Greg Jensen, has reached an agreement to acquire four radio stations from Connoisseur Media in southeastern Minnesota. The transaction includes KAUS (AM/FM) in Austin and KATE (AM) and KCPI-FM in Albert Lea.
The specific stations involved are KAUS 1480 (News/Talk), KAUS-FM 99.9 (Country), KATE 1450 (News/Talk/Oldies), and KCPI-FM 94.9 (Adult Contemporary). The deal is subject to FCC approval and is expected to close in early fall.
Connoisseur Media CEO Jeff Warshaw stated the sale is part of a strategy to refine the company's portfolio and focus on markets where they can make a more meaningful impact. Warshaw noted that Jensen is a strong local operator suited to lead these stations into their next chapter. Kalil & Co., Inc. served as the broker for the transaction.
