Homs authorities seize 250,000 Captagon pills from Lebanon
Syrian anti-narcotics authorities have seized 250,000 Captagon pills and a quantity of marijuana in Homs. The drugs were reportedly arriving from Lebanon. The operation resulted in the arrest of two individuals caught in the act of smuggling.
This seizure is part of a broader crackdown in the region. Within approximately one week, authorities in Homs reported seizing a total of 450,000 Captagon pills across multiple operations. In one specific instance in southern Homs, 50,000 pills were found in a vehicle, while another 200,000 were discovered hidden in a spare tire.
Simultaneously, security forces conducted operations in Deir ez-Zor and Al-Hasakah to dismantle a drug trafficking network operating between the Iraqi border and various parts of Syria. The Syrian Ministry of Interior has reported significant recent activity, including the dismantling of four international networks in September and a cumulative total of 1,550 security operations since the recent change in government, resulting in the seizure of hundreds of millions of Captagon pills and tons of hashish.
