Hon Hai expands AI and optical communications footprint

Hon Hai Precision Industry is expanding its footprint in the AI and high-speed communications sectors. Financial analysts from Nomura and Citigroup have raised their target prices for the company, citing strong growth in AI server infrastructure, ASIC development, and networking products. Nomura noted that Hon Hai is participating in Google's AI cabinet and CPU tray projects, while Citigroup highlighted the company's potential in optical communications and advanced packaging as the next growth pillars.

In a related strategic move, Hon Hai's board approved a 1 billion TWD acquisition of land in Tucheng, New Taipei City. The company plans to utilize this site for future operations focused on optical communications, ultra-precision molds, and precision molding technologies. This acquisition is intended to enhance the group's long-term operational capacity and industrial layout in northern Taiwan.
