The 2026 Honda Civic e:HEV is positioned as a benchmark in the small passenger car segment in Australia, noted for its hybrid efficiency, interior practicality, and driving dynamics. Due to its pricing, which starts at approximately $49,900 drive-away for the entry-level e:HEV L, the Federal Chamber of Automotive Industries (FCAI) classifies the Japanese hatchback as a ‘premium’ small car.

This classification places the Civic alongside other offerings priced above $45,000, such as the MG 4, Subaru WRX, and Volkswagen Golf, as well as traditional premium compacts like the Audi A3, BMW 1 Series, and Mercedes-Benz A-Class. The e:HEV LX variant tested is priced at $55,900 drive-away.
