Honda HR-V recovered by Brazilian police after being identified as a cloned vehicle
The Federal Highway Police (PRF) recovered a stolen and cloned Honda HR-V Touring on the Presidente Dutra Highway in Barra Mansa, Rio de Janeiro. The vehicle, valued at over R$ 162,000, was traveling with license plates from Minas Gerais but was found to be a clone of an original car registered in Santa Catarina that had been reported stolen in São Paulo.
A couple was stopped during a routine inspection. The female passenger claimed she had purchased the vehicle for R$ 160,000 through an online marketplace, paying a R$ 40,000 deposit with the remainder to be paid in installments. Following a detailed inspection, officers identified various adulterations to the vehicle's identification elements, confirming it was a cloned model.
